Rafa tight-lipped on Parry's Liverpool exit
03:46 PM 27 February, 2009
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez revealed little emotion when being questioned about chief executive Rick Parry's imminent departure.

"I think it's a decision between the owners and Rick Parry," Benitez told Sky Sports News.

"We have very important games coming up (so) we have to work together.

"Rick will stay here until the end of season so we'll work together for the rest of the season and after this we will wish him all the best.

"It a decision between them and normally I like to just concentrate on football. Football operations is my responsibility and that's it."

When asked if Parry's exit had any implications on his new contract, Benitez said: "Not really. We had the last press conference and I was talking about contact between owners and my advisers and still they have to talk.

"I am just thinking about football operations so I will not talk about this because it is a decision between them and I will still do the same.

"I want to concentrate on football, on games, on players that part of football business."

One thing's certain, Rafa would make a formidable poker player, especially if he could avoid being wound up by Fergie!
