Arsene Wenger rates Arsenal Football Club goalkeeper Manuel Almunia in the same league as Edwin van der Sar, Petr Cech and Shay Given.

Van der Sar has gone 14 Premier League games without conceding a goal for Manchester United, whilst Cech remains a giant for Chelsea.

Given clinched a £7million move to Manchester City in January and has been excellent, but Wenger would swap anyone for Almunia.

"Manuel does not get as much credit as he deserves," said the Gunners manager. "He has had a good season and I rate him very highly.

“We have two world-class goalkeepers, Lukasz Fabianski and him. I rate Almunia as highly as Cech, Van der Sar and Given because if you keep clean sheets you cannot do much better."

Former Celta Vigo shot-stopper Almunia has not picked the ball out of the back of the net for four successive games, and has kept a total of 15 clean sheets throughout the campaign.
