Gomes shocked with his Tottenham Hotspur form

Heurelho Gomes can’t believe how he has struggled to establish himself at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

The Brazilian goalkeeper moved to White Hart Lane in the summer for £7.8million, yet he made a string of mistakes earlier this season.

Carlo Cudicini has been brought in from Chelsea to challenge his place in the side, and Gomes admits he is surprised to find himself in such a position.

"It has been a very difficult time, it has been a shock," he told The Guardian. "If you look back through my career, I've never had a bad period before.

"I know I have made mistakes, but I have always believed it is a bad period that will pass if I am strong and be the goalkeeper I was before."

i think gomes is a worlds class keeper.does so much for spursdont let him go. its true that he needs to be stronger catching the ball in the air and to be conferdant but hes still my number 1 kepper

gomes is a top quality keeper but just needs some confidence wen catching the ball cos his shot stoppin is second 2 none he just needs confidence an then he'll b fine
