Jonny Evans, Darron Gibson and Danny Welbeck are all set to start for Manchester United in Sunday’s Carling Cup final.

Sir Alex Ferguson had already confirmed Gibson and Welbeck would start at Wembley, and now Evans has been passed fit to face Tottenham Hotspur.

"I know what the team is. I knew days ago,” Sir Alex told MUTV. "There is always a reservation because you need players to get through a few days.

“But I don't think there is any doubt about Evans now, so the team is picked. Players have been whispering in my ear all week saying they want to play."
