Bradford remain firmly in contention
11:18 AM 05 March, 2009
A host of teams are still in the hunt, both for automatic promotion and a play-off place as the campaign enters the final straight.

Brentford are showing the most consistency at this crucial stage, Their 1-0 win at Grimsby on Tuesday night was a fourth victory on the bounce for Andy Scott's side.

The Bees hope their momentum will be boosted by bigger crowds at Griffin Park for the run-in.

Chairman Greg Dyke told the Brentford website: "Our supporters have been great this season, home and away, but there are thousands more Bees fans out there who haven't been coming to matches.

Wycombe will hope their 2-0 win against Chester revives their promotion charge while slip-ups for Rochdale and Bury in midweek have given hope to Bradford, Exeter City, Gillingham and Shrewsbury.

Bradford bounced back with a win over Macclesfield after a recent blip, and manager Stuart McCall told BBC Radio Leeds: "We said before that 1-0 off someone's backside and a scrappy performance would do.

"But tonight it was 1-0 going on 4-0 and I'm pleased with the performance."
