Nicky Shorey could be the next former Reading Football Club player heading back to the Madejski Stadium.

Glen Little has returned to the Royals despite leaving for Portsmouth in the summer, and striker Kitson has also headed back in a loan move from Stoke City.

"Dave has found it hard here, there's no doubt about that, and this is a good move for him in so many ways," Potters boss Tony Pulis told the Sentinel.

"He's going back to a place he knows well, rather than starting afresh again, and it is a great chance for him to get some games, some goals, and some confidence.”

It is believed Reading boss Steve Coppell will now turn his attentions to Nicky Shorey, who has struggled since leaving the club for Aston Villa in the summer.
