West Ham United star Jack Collison has suffered a dislocated kneecap.

The midfielder has been one of the big success stories of the Hammers season, and seems destined for a huge future in the Premier League.

However, the London club will have to make do with being without Collison for up to seven weeks, after he picked up a knee injury in the 1-0 win over Wigan Athletic.

A statement on the club's official website read: "Jack Collison underwent an arthroscopy to assess and deal with the injury on Tuesday and is recovering well."
