Grant Leadbitter believes Sunderland can get something from their next two games.

The Black Cats suffered a 2-1 defeat to Wigan Athletic at the weekend, leaving them just three points ahead of the tightest relegation fight in Premier League history.

Next up is difficult trips to Manchester City and West Ham United, but Leadbitter is confident Ricky Sbragia’s side can get something from both games.

"We have got to pick ourselves up from the Wigan game," he told the Sunderland Echo. "We have to keep the ball and play football.

"We have a top-half Premier League squad here and we have to go to Manchester City and West Ham now and get something - I'm confident we can do that."
