Grant Leadbitter insists he and his team mates share the pain of the Sunderland Football Club supporters following defeat.

The Black Cats fans booed the players off following a 2-1 defeat to Wigan Athletic at the weekend, which has left them just three points above the relegation zone.

"The fans are passionate about football and don't like losing, and we don't like losing,” Leadbitter told the Sunderland Echo.

"We want to do well for Sunderland Football Club. The dressing room was down on Saturday but we have to pick ourselves up.”
