Rochdale rose to second in League Two on Saturday thanks to an injury-time winner againstfellow promotion-chasers Wycombe.
Adam Le Fondre turned in sub Adam Rundle's cross with seconds left in the second-half to secure the three points at Adams Park.
Rochdale boss Keith Hill said, "We were at the top of our game and it was an excellent performance. On another day we could have won by a bigger margin with Adam scoring three.
"The Wycombe goalkeeper made some excellent saves and we missed some opportunities but if you had offered us a 1-0 at the beginning of the day we would have taken it.
"We won here last year and it's a difficult place to come to, but we produced one of the best performances of the season and the win puts us in a great position.
"There are a lot more twists and turns to come over the remaining games but we will savour this result."
