Newcastle United Football Club have handed a trial to Lubomir Korijkov.

A number of clubs across Europe have been keeping tabs on MFK Kosice’s 16-year-old Slovakian youth international defender, but the Magpies are in pole position.

"Korijkov is an outstanding central defender specially for his age," Allen Bula, head of football development at Kosice, told the club's website.

"He has clearly made his mark at international level, where lately MFK Kosice has been approached by top European clubs enquiring about him."
