King going the extra mile to earn new Spurs contract?
11:38 AM 24 March, 2009
Spurs captain Ledley King has apparently gone through the pain barrier to a greater degree than normal, in order to earn himself a new contract.

Comparisons have been drawn with ex-Aston Villa and Manchester United defeneder Paul McGrath, who managed to play on despite having to skip training.

King cannot play more than one game per week, so it came as a surprise when he was called up by England.

Less surprisingly, King missed training!

As good a player as King is, perhaps it wouldn't be wise to offer him a long lucrative contract bearing in mind he reportedly has next to no cartilage at all left in his knees.

Ledley is the KING and always will be he is an amazing loyal athlete who every week gets through the pain barrier to play for Spurs. A fit ledley is worth more then we got for Berbatov as his playing record suggests we rarely lose when Ledley is playing. NO. 26 - "King of the Lane" give him the best contract we can afford.
