Friedel will face Manchester United
04:00 PM 24 March, 2009
Aston Villa will have their first choice goalkeeper available for the trip to Old Trafford after the international break, after Brad Friedel's red card against Liverpool was rescinded.

The dismissal came when Villa were already trailing by four goals to nil, and looked to have ended the American veteran's record breaking consecutive run of Premier League appearances.

The FA however, in a move unlikely to please Sir Alex Ferguson have ruled that referee Martin Atkinson's decision was incorrect.

i tought the ref in villa liverpool game was spot on the only thing that would have saved friedel if the ball rolls into the net 5-0 torres scores the fifth or Reo Coker has to behind fridel on the goal line would have been pen but not a red card as friedel would not be classed as last man

Fergie will not be best pleaed at all if Freidel plays at old trafford and he plays a blinder and keeps everything out and villa get a lucky goal or even a draw fergie will be furiours with the fa for allowing friedel to play
