The 23-year old former Burnley and Blackburn left-back moves from Derby County and looks set to go straight into the first team after injuries befell first-choices Michael Hart and Callum Davidson.

"I would like to stay here, but that's out of my hands. I know the coaching staff, I know the way they play and I would like to stay," the Scotland international told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"I spoke to the manager at Derby and told him I needed to play games. He was happy for me to go out on loan and understood that I needed to play games."
