Djibril Cisse has reiterated his desire to stay at Sunderland Football Club.
The Black Cats admit they may not be able to afford to take the France striker from Marseille on a permanent basis, but the player has certainly not given up hope.
"People were surprised when I left a team in the UEFA Champions League to join Sunderland, who were involved in a relegation fight last season,” Cisse told the Daily Mail.
"But I want my future to be here but I'm still waiting to sign. I am waiting, I am patient. I was not satisfied in Marseille. I want to score goals and you can't do that from the bench.”
