Chelsea Football Club hope Jose Bosingwa will be available for the weekend.

The Portugal fullback picked up a leg injury during the World Cup qualifier with Sweden on Saturday, and he will miss the friendly against South Africa on Wednesday.

"Bosingwa has suffered a gash on his left leg," said Portugal team doctor Henrique Jones. "He will definitely miss the next game."

However, the Blues are said to be confident Bosingwa’s injury is not too serious, and he will be able to play against Newcastle United next weekend.
