Wigan Athletic Football Club are plotting a move for Rio Mavuba.

Steve Bruce is eager to land a new midfielder during the summer transfer window, after allowing Wilson Palacios to join Tottenham Hotspur for £14million in the New Year market.

And reports claim the Latics manager has set his sights on France international Mavuba, who joined Lille from Spanish side Villarreal in the summer after impressing during a season-long loan.
