Guide to the mighty Prenton Park

Ok so we may seem like the poor relation when you look at two other rather more famous grounds across the water. But Prenton Park is a ground that no Premier League side relishes coming to. That's not because the pubs and pies aren't good it's more likely because they never leave with a win.
When driving to Prenton Park there is plenty of parking around the ground but watch out for the restricted zones! Now we’ve been relegated you can always find a place on the official carpark for a small charge of £3, the only problem comes when leaving.
But your car will be fine parked in the neighbouring streets after all we aren't scousers- and if you remember that you'll go one step to making friends on the wirral.
The two pubs right outside the ground The Mersey Clipper and the Prenton Park both house home and away fans. The only problem arises if you were planning to get drunk before kick off as the service is usually so slow you'll have sobered up by the next time you're served!
The Clipper serves hot food but sometimes on a big game parts of the pub are roped off, but the main thing is the drink. The beer must be good as it's a good place to spot players both before and after games, yes that's right our new policy is celebrate before we play after all it saves time later oh and with doubles at £1.68, you can’t go wrong.
The Prenton Park is the place to go if your after a few drinks and fast, as here they have a doubles bar serving whisky, vodka, gin and brandy for just £1.57.
If you stagger slightly further afield you'll find the Half Way House and The Sportsmans, both of which welcome away fans - unless of course you're from Bolton, then you won't be welcomed anywhere at all.

So you can probably watch your team play for less than you do at home.
So make sure you make a note of when your team will be dropping three points against Tranmere and make the journey onto the Wirral after all it's easy to find from any direction -
M53 towards Liverpool
Junction 4 and take the 4th exit at the roundabout.
Follow the road until you come to two mini roundabouts go straight over at the first mini and bear right at the next.
At the end of that road turn left and Prenton Park is further up on the left, so keep an eye out for an available gap to park.
Coming through Liverpool from M62
Go through the Birkenhead Tunnel and turn right when you come out.
You are now on Borough Road, keep following it and Prenton Park is on your right.
See it couldn't be easier.
